Mindfully with Tunmise and Blackhemages Media Concepts Create Safe Space for Men to Break the Silence on Societal Pressures, Stress, and Holistic Health.

In a powerful move to address the silent crisis in men’s mental health, Mindfully with Tunmise Production in collaboration with Blackhemages Media Concepts has announced the return of its impactful event, “A Fight for Life 2.0.”

Scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Trident Suites, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, the event is designed to create a crucial, psychologically safe space for men to engage in open dialogue and equip themselves with tools for holistic development.

The initiative stems from growing concerns about the unique socioeconomic and emotional challenges faced by men in Nigeria, who are often socialized to be stoic providers without the tools to process complex emotions.

Why Men’s Mental Health is a Critical Conversation

Oluwatunmise Oladapo-Kuku, Lead Creative at Blackhemages Media Concepts, emphasizes that the societal script for men often leaves them vulnerable.

“From a young age, men are raised to be providers and protectors, but they are rarely given the guidance or permission to fully process their emotions,” Oladapo-Kuku states.

“This gap leaves them vulnerable to chronic stress, addiction, and significant relational challenges. ‘A Fight for Life’ delves into these pressures and their real-world consequences, which can manifest as domestic conflict, overworking, or social disengagement.”

The Ripple Effect of Healing

The conversation around men’s mental health extends far beyond the individual. Oladapo-Kuku argues that a man’s emotional well-being is the bedrock of a healthy family and community.

“When a man is whole and given permission to feel, he is better equipped to serve his ecosystem—his family, his work, his community.

Healing the head allows the body to thrive,” she explains. “When men are supported emotionally, socially, and financially, their partners and children benefit too.

This isn’t just about reducing anxiety; it’s about aligning thoughts, emotions, and actions for stability and growth.”

What to Expect at “A Fight for Life 2.0”

The event aims to move beyond awareness and into actionable change. Attendees of “A Fight for Life 2.0” can expect:

  • Open, Candid Dialogues: Facilitated conversations on the pressures of masculinity, emotional intelligence, and socioeconomic health.
  • A Psychologically Safe Environment: A dedicated space where men can speak freely without judgment.
  • Practical Tools for Wellbeing: Strategies and resources to help men safeguard their mental and emotional health.
  • Community Building: An opportunity to connect with other men on a similar journey toward holistic growth.

Building a Culture of Whole, Nurturing Men

Ultimately, the project advocates for a cultural shift where men are nurtured as fully-rounded individuals, capable of both leadership and emotional intelligence.

“Men are nurturers in their own right, and society must create space for them to fully embrace that role,” Oladapo-Kuku adds.

“Through ‘A Fight for Life,’ we are not just starting a conversation; we are equipping a generation to build healthier families and stronger communities.”
