The Super Eagles Of Nigeria, will be Facing the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the round of 16 at the AFCON Nations Cup.

Mr Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has assured the Super Eagles of the Federal Government’s support in their quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Cameroon.

Emefiele gave the assurance while visiting the team in Garoua, Cameroon, with top Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials.

The CBN governor praised the efforts of the Super Eagles players and officials, urging them to remain patriotic.

“You will continue to be rewarded, but most importantly, you should view this trip as a service to the country.”

I can assure you that the government is doing everything possible to make Nigerian youth happy.

“Continue to make Nigerians happy as you have done; members of the government delegation are always present and ready to provide you with all the support you need,” he said.

Earlier, NFF President Amaju Pinnick thanked the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and his delegation for their visit, promising to always do the country proud.

“We thank the extremely passionate Super Eagles fan, a member of the Presidential delegation, and the dynamic CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emiefele, who not only galvanised the private sector to support the Super Eagles in the previous AFCON, where we finished third, but who is doing it again in grand style.”
