Alphonsus Eba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman-elect, has stated that 7,000 aides to Governor Ben Ayade will be fired if they do not register with the party by January.

Eba stated this during a press conference in Calabar, the state capital, on Tuesday.
He stated that the appointees had not registered as APC members and gave the aides until December 31, 2021 to register or be relieved of their positions on January 1, 2021.

“All 7,000 appointees who have yet to register with the APC must be relieved of their positions,” he said, adding that their positions would be filled by APC members.
During his tenure, Gov. Ayade has appointed 38,000 political aides.

In a report from PM News at the press conference, the chairman-elect reiterated that the APC is the party to beat, noting that his opinion is shared by many APC members in Cross-River State.

“We’ve had conversations with disgruntled members of our party.” At the time of writing, not less than 100 distinguished party members, young and old, major and minor, had been visited.

“Every party member believes that the APC is the party to beat.”
