Today, the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, presided over a groundbreaking ceremony marking the commencement of a 30-bed ultra-modern reference hospital in Bauchi.
The initiative, generously donated by the Abdul Samad Rabiu (ASR) Initiative for Africa, aims to significantly enhance healthcare access for customs officers and the local community.
Expressing gratitude to the ASR Initiative, CGC Adeniyi highlighted the project’s importance in bolstering the welfare of customs personnel and the broader community.
“We are delighted to receive this invaluable project, which will greatly benefit our officers and the entire community,” he remarked.
Dr. Ubong Udoh, CEO of the ASR Initiative for Africa, commended CGC Adeniyi for his presence and reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the ASR Initiative and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
“The potential of our partnership is limitless,” Dr. Udoh remarked, emphasizing the transformative impact of collaborative efforts.
Representing the local community, Hon. Tanko Dutse acknowledged the NCS’s positive influence on security and local development.
He expressed gratitude for the forthcoming hospital, noting its crucial role in providing essential healthcare to underserved populations.
“This hospital will cater to those who lack access to medical facilities,” he stated, urging more corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Architect Muktar Aliyu, the project manager, highlighted the hospital’s potential to revolutionize healthcare services in Bauchi.
“This 30-bed ultra-modern hospital signifies our commitment to healthcare excellence and community well-being,” he affirmed.
