EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will travel for the first time after assuming his new post, to Washington on 6-7 February, to hold talks with US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner.

On Tuesday, Borrell rejected parts of the US President Donald Trump‘s plan for resolving the Israeli-Palestine conflict, citing international law concerns, while the two sides are also divided over Iran’s nuclear deal.

EU’s top diplomat will also meet with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi and the National Security Advisor, Robert O’Brien, in a mission aiming at enhancing transatlantic relations and foreign policy dialogue.
