The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), alongside some of its officers at the Mowe unit command, Ogun State Sector Command, assisted a pregnant mother on her way to a safe childbirth on Friday.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Mr Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), the assistance became necessary due to the mother and child’s lives being saved.

According to him, while on patrol in Mowe, the team, led by Deputy Route Commander (DRC) Damilola Osiyemi of Mowe Unit Command, assisted a woman in labor around 1430hours on Friday.

“The woman, Mrs Ola of No 7, Aiyegbami Street in Sagamu, boarded a vehicle with the registration number FKJ 904 HE from Sagamu.”

“She was observed in labor and was later rushed to Broad Life Hospital, Olowotedo near NASFAT area, Mowe Ogun State by the team, where she was later delivered of a baby girl,” according to the statement.

It went on to say that the command would not back down from doing anything to protect the lives and property of Ogun residents on the road and Nigerians in general.

To reduce traffic congestion, the statement urged all motorists to refrain from violating traffic rules and regulations.

It also encouraged motorists to seek assistance from FRSC personnel operating on the highway whenever necessary. (NAN)
