The new Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has pleaded with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the last election, David Lyon, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, to support his administration.

Diri spoke at a thanksgiving provider in Yenagoa on Sunday.

The new governor promised to run an all-inclusive govt, insisting that he wanted the cooperation and support of all leaders of the state.

He also mentioned he wanted the support of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to be successful, calling on all supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to be magnanimous in victory.

“I can be Governor of all, be it PDP, APC and others. We should stay united and ensure peace in our land,” he added.

“That’s the only time we will be speaking of building. Allow us to work together.”

Diri mentioned he’s keen to believe even members of the opposition parties for appointments.

The former lawmaker, on the other hand, warned against all kinds of crimes within the State, pronouncing his management would cross difficult on criminals.

“Our administration is not going to condone crimes. No development can happen in the environment devoid of peace,” he stated.
