NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – The government of Kazakhstan continues to pay allowances to the salaries of doctors, who are involved in the fight against coronavirus, the Social Health Insurance Fund said on July 21, adding that the Fund pays 53,000 medical workers.
According to the Social Insurance Fund, 35.7 billion tenge ($86.2 million) was allocated from the republican budget to the Health Insurance Fund for the payment of premiums for doctors. In total, for the period from March to June, the Fund paid doctors more than 32 billion tenge (or $77.2 million) in addition to their salaries.
“The Health Insurance Fund notes that the number of health workers who are involved in work in dangerous conditions with infection is growing every month. If in March more than 19,000 doctors received a bonus, then in May their number increased to 40,000 people. Currently, the Fund makes payments for June,” the Fund said.
