…Udeh, Okolieogwo, Okoroike, Others Bagged Award

The Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of MezieImo Surveillance Newspaper in Owerri, Imo State, Prof.Athan Azubuike, has officially launched his tabloid known as MezieImo Newspaper and presented awards of honour and merit to some respected Imo sons and daughters who has in their respectively contributed in one way or the other the growth and development of the state.

The ceremony which took place at Rockview Hotel Owerri, on Friday,Dec.3rd 2021, attracted so many notable dignitaries who bagged various awards of honour.

Amongst the highly respected awardees are:” The Interim Management Committee Chairman, IMC Chairman of Oru-West, Hon.Willie Okolieogwo, (Imo ALGON State Chairman), the Interim Management Committee Chairman, IMC Chairman, of Isiala-Mbano, Hon. Prince Chika Okoroike, and the Imo NURTW State Chairman, Hon. Comr. Samuel Chijioke Udeh (Ezeumuokorobia), who was ably represented by his Personal Assistant, Sir. Dennis Tochukwu Nneji”.

Responding shortly after receiving the award, the Imo NURTW State Chairman, Hon. Samuel Udeh (Ezeumuokorobia), who spoke through his Personal Assistant, Sir.Dennis T. Nneji, expressed satisfaction to be honored by the leadership and management of MezieImo Surveillance Newspaper, but promised to support the growth of the media outfit.

Udeh, therefore encouraged the MezieImo Clergy Forum led by the Publisher of MezieImo, Bishop Prof.Athan Azubuike, but prayed God to give him the resources to sustain the day to day activities of the news medium.

The Imo NURTW State Boss, however discouraged the propagation of unfounded news stories and fake news, but advised the newspaper outfit to always portray authentic information as a medium organization.

“I am a lover of the press but Journalists should endeavour to dwell on facts and figures instead of misleading the public with baseless news items. I will like MezieImo Surveillance Newspaper to write on objectivity, investigative journalism and real facts as watchdogs of the society. Our union are strongly behind constructive journalism. You are free to press, you have the rights to criticize constructively and the society would be partnership with your medium if your reportages are constructively composed with error and without inclination”, Udeh submitted.

Meanwhile, the Publisher of MezieImo Newspaper, Bishop Prof.Azubuike, is also the Presiding Bishop, House of God Int’l Church in Owerri, Imo State, who interacted with some section of newsmen who graced the ceremony, thank God for the huge successes so far recorded by the management and publishers of MezieImo Surveillance Newspaper.

According to Bishop Athan, ” We have been in existence for several years but we have decided to unveil the newspaper officially”.

Bishop Azubuike, who is founder of Socio-Religious Platform called “Mezie Imo Clergy Forum and Young Clergy” in Owerri, while speaking, expressively disclosed that the aim of the newspaper is targeted at promoting all the activities of the State and that of the country in good faith, thereby, using the strength of the newspaper outfit to write the wrongs.

In the same vain, the IMC Chairman of Isiala-Mbano, Hon. Prince Chika Okoroike and the IMC of Oru-West, Hon.Chief Willie Okolieogwo, in their respective contributions, after receiving the awards , expressed satisfaction for the successful award ceremony and the unveiling of the newspaper outfit.

The duo IMC Chairmen, in their respective words, encouraged the management of MezieImo Surveillance Newspaper to associate themselves with investigative journalism in their professional careers, even as they advised the authority of the newly launched medium to criticize the Shared Prosperity Government of Gov.Hope Uzodinma, constructively, added that the government is poised to deliver the real dividends of democracy to the people of the state but appealed to Imolites to exercise little patient with 3R Mantra of Gov. Uzodinma.
