Since assuming office, Comptroller Awe has implemented strategies aligned with global customs standards, enhancing trade facilitation, reducing clearance times, and significantly boosting revenue.
From January to June 2024, the Command collected a total of N80,351,299,068.00 in customs duty and related charges.
This marks a substantial increase compared to N38,707,054,216.44 collected during the same period in 2023, reflecting a notable 107.5% growth amounting to N41,644,246,851.56.
Additionally, the Command reported an export value of N266,655,113.66K and an FOB value of $204,597.07 during the same period, underscoring its role in promoting outbound trade activities.
Comptroller Awe expressed gratitude to the officers and personnel for their dedication to curbing smuggling activities and emphasized the Command’s commitment to further enhancing revenue generation throughout the remainder of 2024.
