Police arrest man 44, for allegedly raping an underage girl with special needs

A 44-year-old man identified as Ezekiel Mahai has been arrested by officials of Adamawa state police command for allegedly raping an underaged girl with special needs in Adamawa.

This sad incident comes barely three days after another man identified as Obiora Patrick reportedly confessed to have raped his nine-year-old step-daughter in Yola, the state capital.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Suleiman Nguroje.

According to the police, Mahai allegedly raped the girl in Prakwanta Village under Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

It was further revealed that the suspect, Mahai carefully monitored the movement of his victim’s mother before raping her.

“The victim is now undergoing medical screening while the suspect has been taken into custody for investigation and prosecution.” Nguroje disclosed.

In a related story, Ireportnews reported that Men of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old lady identified as Zainab Ja’afaru for allegedly arranging for her friend to be gang-raped in Gerio community in the state.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Police, Olugbenga Adeyanju while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, June 1.
