The revered Prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry has voiced his strong disapproval of the Akwa Ibom state government’s refusal to pay the outstanding N7,519,906,620.79 owed to Stemco Limited for a project completed between 2012 and 2015 under the administration of the current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking on the matter in Lagos, Prophet Ikuru condemned the actions of the Akwa Ibom state government, describing them as callous and inhumane. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the administration of Godswill Akpabio, who was the governor at the time, and called out the commissioners for works, information, and the Accountant General from 2012 to the present as complicit in this issue. He urged the current governor, Umo Eno, to urgently address the matter and ensure the company is paid.

Prophet Ikuru Urges Akwa Ibom Government to Settle N7.5 Billion Debt to Stemco Ltd

Prophet Ikuru lamented that over 4,000 employees of Stemco Limited have lost their jobs and homes due to the unpaid debt. “It is heartbreaking to see Stemco in such dire straits, with only 20 staff remaining out of over 4,500. This debt is for work that was completed; it is unjust to inflict such suffering on them,” he stated.
