The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reassured Lagosian that the coming year will bring freshness and a lot of great things in infrastructure.
Speaking at the Christmas Day Service held at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina, where I took a reading from the book of Isaiah 9: 2-7 in the Bible, Sanwo-Olu noted that the spirit of doggedness is what has been keeping us
“The message from Isaiah relates to us as Lagosians, considering what we’ve been through. It has been a very tough year, but the spirit of Lagos, the doggedness and the energy is what has been propelling us. Most importantly is the strength in our unity.” He said
“However, this is a bright new day, and there’s light at the end of the tunnel. We should be grateful for the gift of life, and hopeful for better days ahead. Let us believe that in unity, we all can make great things happen. We should continue to live in peace and harmony, and people should continue to obey all the COVID protocols.”
“I want to also let people know that next year would certainly bring the freshness of a lot of great things in infrastructure and all that we are aspiring for, individually and collectively.”
“We would certainly not take the peace we have in Lagos for granted and we would continue to pray for our state, our country, pray for the leadership of the country, for various states, and all our citizens.”
“Our churches and mosques should also continue to pray for things that concern all of us, while we as a Government continue to work for the peace and progress of our dear state, because that is the message the birth of Christ brings to us today.”
“Therefore, here’s wishing all of us a very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous new year!”
