President Tinubu is convening a closed-door meeting with top security and paramilitary leaders under the National Security Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting, led by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, includes key military and paramilitary officials.

This gathering comes amid ongoing nationwide protests against hunger and poor governance.

On Sunday, President Tinubu appealed for the suspension of the protests, which have escalated into violence in some states, resulting in casualties and property damage.

In his national address, he acknowledged the protesters’ grievances but warned against allowing opposition figures to exploit the situation to undermine democracy.

The meeting also includes Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, among other officials.
