The US government through the Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated an additional 348 million tenge ($800,000) to mitigate the spread of the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan, the US Embassy in Nur-Sultan said on April 22.
In total, taking into account the additional contribution, the US provided 713 million tenge (more than $1.6 million) to assist Kazakhstan in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
“Kazakhstan is taking decisive action to stop the spread of the virus. In the fight against COVID-19, the US government supports Kazakhstan and other partners around the world,” US Ambassador in Kazakhstan William Moser said in a statement.
