NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – In July, Kazakhs purchased 2,712 ingots with a total weight of 113.1 kg from second-tier banks and non-bank exchange offices, the press- service if National Bank of Kazakhstan said on August 13.
Gold bars are available in five varieties: 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 g. According to the bank, the most popular among buyers is the 10 g bar.
Its share of the total sales is 27% – 8,206 units. This is followed by 100-gram – 6 491 pieces (21%), 5-gram – 6 326 pieces (20%), 20-gram – 6 045 pieces (20%), 50-gram – 3 787 pieces (12%).
“The leader among the regions in terms of buying ingots is the city of Almaty (54% of the total number of sold ingots), followed by the country’s oil city – Atyrau (16%), the country’s capital – Nur-Sultan (10%) and other regions (20%),” the National Bank specified.
Gold bars are a long-term investment and savings instrument.
